DISSOLUTION OF THE MIND – HOW?
Peace is our original nature, because, we exist, in total peace, in our sleep. However, in our waking, we never know about peace. In our waking, we are never peaceful and are rather disturbed, because, mind is active. Mind is a disturbance, to our peace. Thought, is a disturbance to our peace, because, mind is not our original nature. In sleep, because, this mind disappears, for a while and hence, we exist in our original nature i.e. in complete peace.
Our
reality is consciousness. So, the whole spirituality and spiritual practices,
are about dissolution of this mind, into consciousness, so that you can always
exist, in your original nature i.e. in total peace. Temporary disappearance of
mind, in sleep, is really, not a solution. Because, post-waking up, this mind comes
awake again and the same drama unfolds. The permanent solution, therefore, is total dissolution
of this mind, in our waking i.e. into consciousness, as opposed, to
disappearance, of the mind, for time being, in sleep or unconsciousness.
Now, dissolution of mind, means, dissolution of physicality, altogether in you, because, mind is nothing but desires or vasanas i.e. impressions of physicality, in essence. Because of predominance of physicality, in us, right now, thoughts or mind dominate us, in our waking and that’s why, we get carried away, by the physical in no time. Thus, not the awareness, which is our original nature, but unawareness or thought or the physical dominate us.
Awareness, means, hosh i.e. consciousness but unawareness or mind is behoshi i.e. unconsciousness. So, behoshi or unconsciousness, means, you are in complete seizure of the physical and this in turn, is because, you are completely ruled and driven by the mind, by the physical. This is a kind of vicious circle, in play right now.
So, dissolution of mind, means knowing or realising, that not mind, not physical, is my real nature but just being, just conscious or just aware, is my real nature. So, distancing from the mind is actually the dissolution of the mind. Distancing from mind, means, you give physical expression to your desires, to your tendencies, only to the extent needed. Please know, that mind wants to keep you, exist as a physical, as a body, because mind can’t exist without the physical. Mind survives and thrives on physical but in the absence of the physical, the mind is dead.
So, giving physical expression to your desires, to your tendencies indiscriminately and unconsciously, is to be friends with the mind, to be in the company of the mind, to be in the company of the physical or unawareness. But, giving only conscious, expression to your tendencies, is to distance from the mind. To know, that my nature, is not physical but awareness and hence, keeping involvement with the physical, only when needed.
Now, if you do this constantly, then you gradually and slowly, become more of a presence and less of a person and your awareness, too, begins to heighten up simultaneously. Now, these are the only two possibilities - unawareness n awareness, physical or mind and nonphysical or consciousness. Because, right now unawareness or physical or mind dominates you and hence, you know nothing about awareness. But, as you become spiritual i.e. you begin to heighten your awareness, by distancing from your mind, awareness or the presence begins to dominate you. Your real nature begins to dominate you. You begin to become an expression of your awareness, of your nature.
This is simultaneous dissolution of mind, too, because awareness is your integral nature and hence, is there with you, all the time but for your mind. Only your mind, the unawareness, the thoughts the physical in you, have really clouded and hidden this awareness in you.
So, learn to distance from mind, begin to distance from mind and that is death or dissolution of the mind too. If, the mind is dissolved fully, you will know awareness or being conscious is your real nature. You, will then exist in total freedom, which we traditionally know as mukti moksha i.e. liberation from physical existence. It’s only, your mind, which needs a body because mind is physical, not awareness because, awareness is total consciousness, in which, there’s no physical. Meditation is a method which helps heighten up your awareness and hence, dissolution of the mind.
