Why “wake up SP wake up”?

Man is asleep. I am not referring to the ordinary sleep but the metaphysical sleep in which we all are deeply drowned. This sleep is in the form of what is commonly known as unconsciousness. Because of this unconsciousness I’m not aware of what I’m doing. I’m not where I’m, though physically present. I’m not with what I’m doing. For example I’m eating but my awareness (variously known as consciousness; witnessing or simply energy) which is real ‘me’ does not travel with my eating. Things are just happening in asleep or mechanically. This is true for all what I’m doing.

The real ‘me’ always remains busy somewhere else and this is how the life keeps happening in unawareness or unconsciousness. All the time I’m dreaming. This is true even when I’m alone by myself. Because dreams and sleep exist together. Dreaming means being pre-occupied with what is not there. Mind is illusory and non-existent because mind exists in time. Time means past and future. One is not with the reality or with his real self which is in the present. One is always dreaming or living in mind. Life lived in unconsciousness, life lived mechanically or instinctively is a life wasted. Because being instinctive or mechanical is animalistic. It’s not evolution but regression.

The only reason we continue living in unconsciousness is that we never recognize and realize that living in unconsciousness is not normal or natural. Being natural or normal is to live by choice. And hence the only thing we need to do in order to come out of this metaphysical sleep or unconsciousness is to know and understand that I’m asleep; to realize that if I’m asleep, I can be awake also. This realization or understating on our part is one big step in the direction of de-automatizing our life. De-automatizing is being conscious i.e. doing everything out of awareness. And that’s what spirituality is all about which is to be aware of all what you do. No action (physical and mental) should go unaware or unnoticed.

Hence the title of my blog – wakeupspwakeup. Through myself, I’m addressing all. The rare ones who dared and strived to come out of this metaphysical sleep and became spiritually awake are referred to as Buddhas or the enlightened ones. Enlightenment means one who is full of light or consciousness; one who is awake all the time.
