HAPPINESS COMES FROM WITHIN
IT’S WRONG TO ASSUME or say that happiness comes from the objects of the world. This only appears to be but is not true because happiness comes from within. Happiness is your nature. That’s why this existence is referred to as satchitananda which is that existence or being (sat) is consciousness (chitta) and consciousness is bliss (ananda). The happiness which you experience is of your existence; of your being, of your chitta. This bliss is that happiness which has no opposites and hence beyond duality.
The only condition that you need to fulfill for experiencing this bliss is that you must be established in your existence or in your consciousness because nature of consciousness is bliss. Whenever you are centered which is that you are not split within or spread into many directions, you are in your being. No-mind or no-thought state is the state of your being; is the state of your consciousness. Thought is a disturbance. You can try and experience this. Become still – still in your mind- and you are home. In that moment you can experience the bliss of your existence. Happiness does not come from outside but it arises from within when the mind ceases to be; when the mind stops running around. When, for example, you get something of your choice, you become happy and you attribute this happiness to that object but this is not correct. You are happy not because you got that object but for the reason that now your mind has stopped running, your mind ceases to be – man ki daud ka band ho jana. Until the time you got your desired object the mind was running around in search of that object or person and you were miserable. But the moment the mind stops you experience the bliss of your consciousness or of your being.
