CONFUSION AND CLARITY
The common example of confusion which is usually sighted with reference to spirituality is of seeing a snake in a rope. What happened was that in the night when it was pitch dark you saw something curvy lying on the floor and you imagined this to be a snake. Because you thought it to be a snake, not only you were full of fear but you also thought of using a stick to chase the ‘snake’ away. Before you could do anything someone suggested to light a lamp which you quickly did and in that light, you were surprised to see that what you imagined to be a snake was really not a snake but a rope lying there. Light, thus, brought clarity and in that clarity, you could see the things as they are and consequent to that all fear too had disappeared. Light, thus, is clarity and darkness is confusion.
