SPIRITUALITY IS LIKE BURSTING YOUR OWN BALLOON BEFORE TIME
Did you see that a balloon which initially, though, is full of air but in couple of days’ times, the same balloon is found to be deflated on its own, without your doing? This happens because slowly and gradually, air goes off the balloon. This is one way to deflate the balloon. The other way is that you can burst if off, on your own, instead of leaving it to deflate at its own pace. First, is what happens naturally and second is what you do to the balloon, before time. Spirituality is exactly like that, which is to burst your balloon by your own doing, before time. This body is nothing but a balloon, in which is caged consciousness or chetana which is our reality and reality of whatever we see around us. The whole existence is nothing but just a manifestation of the same consciousness only.
The one way which is the most common and also is the nature’s
way is that, receding or declining of this chetana
or energy, from this body, happens at its own pace, slowly and gradually. This
method is what we commonly know, as settlement of prarbdha karma. Prarbdha is
one installment which you are supposed to settle in this life. Life means prarbdha or destiny only. With
settlement of prarbdha, your energy
also recedes and a moment comes when energy recedes completely from this body,
upon which the body drops, which we know as death. Natural death is always co-terminus
with full settlement of prarbdha
karma. You can no longer be in this body if there is nothing of your prarbdha karma is left for settlement.
So, this nature’s way is similar to the balloon deflating, on its own, slowly
and gradually.
Another way, is what we know as spiritual way and this way is
for those who are in hurry; those who do not want to go nature’s way because
nature’s way is very dicey and unpredictable one. This is for the simple reason
that though you settle one installment of your karma (prarbdha) in this life but at the same time, you add lot more new
karma, in this process of settlement. And this is how this journey becomes
never-ending because on the one hand, though, you redeem some stock of your
existing karma but at the same time you end up adding lot more new karma as well
because of living life in unawareness. The journey, thus, keeps repeating
itself and one does not know as for how many more lives this will continue
happening and hence the spiritual way.
