YOU WILL COME AWAKE IF YOU CONSCIOUSLY BECOME SILENT WITHIN
If you see someone as totally silent then, know for sure, that one of the two things are true about him - either he is asleep/ about to fall asleep or he is dead / will fall dead shortly. This is for the reason, that these two things – sleep and death - cannot happen to a person, until he becomes totally silent within. We know, through experience, that one cannot go to sleep until he is fully relaxed and silent within and the same is true for natural death too. If you pay little attention, you will know that a person who is approaching his natural death, he slowly and gradually, starts becoming silent within. This happens for the simple reason that his prarbdha or destiny, which is his karmic memory, is now coming to a close. Prarbdha is one installment of karma, which one is supposed to finish in this life. Once, this prarbdha is over, one cannot remain in this physical body any longer. That’s the reason that one who is quite young and is still left with enough prarbdha karma is usually very active because his individuality is still loaded with enough amount of karma. However, this is not the case with an old person, for the simple reason that with advancing age, as he approaches his natural death, his prarbdha or karmic memory, too weakens simultaneously.
Resting one’s individuality, better known as ego or mind, is what becoming silent is. Now, these two things i.e. sleep and death are just nature’s arrangement whereby, one’s individuality, is rested temporarily so that sleep or death can happen easily. Without resting one’s individuality, one cannot go to sleep or to death. For sleep and death to happen, this resting of one’s individuality is a must. You will observe that a person who is asleep, appears as if he is dead or non-existent, simply because his individuality is suspended temporarily which, though, becomes functional again with his waking up. And the same is true for a dead person too, in whose case the individuality or ego becomes operative again in a new body. That is the only difference i.e. after sleep the individuality becomes operational in the same body and after death, this becomes operational again in a new body and thus, this ego is never lost in both the cases. Instead, this individuality is just suspended or rested temporarily by the nature and hence is nothing but just a brief pause in the continuity of one’s physical existence. As one wakes up after sleep in the same body, so one wakes up after death in a new body.
Thus, if this resting of individuality is done by the nature, then these two things i.e. sleep or death, only can happen. However, if this resting of ego is done consciously, by a person himself, while he is alive, then there is a third and yet another possibility, a much bigger possibility, which could materialize to that person, which is that he would come awake. Coming awake is becoming pure energy or pure awareness and thus merging with the existence or with the Source itself. Coming awake is end of physicality for good because coming awake means complete dissolution or elimination of unconsciousness and energy regaining its purity. Pure energy, never seeks or takes any form because being pure it has nothing to express. Only impure i.e. energy which has taken impressions from outside, does take physical forms because those impressions which we know as vasanas need expression. But if these tendencies or vasanas (karmic memory), are destroyed completely then the very basis for bodily existence too is destroyed permanently.
