THE TRUTH IS SO OBVIOUS AND YET WE TEND TO MISS IT …..WHY?
Do you know, what is the reality of the house in which you live? Are the concrete walls of the house, the reality? Or, are the furniture and other belongings which are there in the house, the reality? No, neither the concrete walls, nor the belongings etc but the reality or truth of your house, is the emptiness; the empty space; the vast expanse or simply the Aakash. Because, without that empty space, you just cannot imagine existence of your house. Your house can simply not exist without that space.
Let us take another example. You saw a tree or someone on the outside. Now, the question is that can you see that tree or someone or for that matter anything else, on the outside, without that emptiness? No, you cannot, because without that emptiness, nothing can arise and exist in this existence. In fact, the whole creation or physicality which we see around us, not only comes out of that emptiness but also survives and thrives in that very space only.
This emptiness, thus, is the soul or the reality or simply the truth of this existence or the truth of whatever we see around us. In the absence of this empty space, the physicality or creation is just impossible. Nothing can exist and happen without this vast expanse which not only surrounds us all the time but we also exist and happen, all the time, in the same space.
This emptiness or vast expanse is the reality, the truth, the soul or the Center of this existence because this emptiness is eternal – was there, is there and will always be there. For example, before your house came up, this emptiness was very much there, the same emptiness is there, even now and is very much supporting your house and the same emptiness will still be there tomorrow, though, the concrete structure which you call as your house, may not be there. The same is true for the tree or anything else which you see on the outside. The physicality or creation, is temporary; is fleeting which keeps appearing and disappearing; which keeps coming and going; which keeps making and unmaking itself, in this eternal space.
Thus, the truth or reality is not only there, all the time, in front of our eyes, but we are very much surrounded by the same truth all the time. Though, we all exist and happen in this reality and yet we miss it. The reality or truth, is so obvious and so apparent and yet we fail to notice it. Why? This is for the simple reason that we are too focussed upon the physical reality. We are too lost in or busy with the forms and objects, I mean the physicality, on the outside that we fail to notice the very reality which supports and surrounds this physicality. This is the reason that though you see a tree but you fail to notice or you tend to miss the emptiness or the space in which this tree exists. Because we attach too much importance to the body, I mean the physicality, that we fail to notice the very reality or the truth which surrounds and supports that body or physicality all the time.
Please know that only the limited binds you. The gross or physicality, I mean the forms and objects, are limited and hence bind you, they are the reason for your bondage. However, that which is limitless, never binds you. The emptiness or this vast expanse which is limitless never binds you. The emptiness, rather, releases you because emptiness is oneness in which there are no ‘others’ i.e. there are no forms and objects.
Hence, always be with the emptiness or oneness which is what consciousness is and not be identified with or carried away by the physicality. Stop attaching too much significance to that which is temporary. Instead, treat temporary as temporary and be always with and associate with that which is real, that which is the truth, that which is eternal. Emptiness is permanent like the screen and physicality is temporary, like the pictures on the screen. Pictures keep appearing and simultaneously disappearing on the screen but the screen is always there – before the show, during the show and even after the show. Hence be with the screen and not with the pictures. Meditation is a method which helps you know what is permanent and what is temporary.
