THE OBSERVER, IS THE OBSERVED – DRISHTA HI, DRISHY HAI.
Do you know, that a screen never sees the pictures, which, it shows up? Why? Because, the screen knows, that pictures don’t and can’t exist, apart from it. A screen knows it, very well, that pictures, arise out of it, play their roles upon it and finally, they all, sink back, into the same screen only. When, the screen itself, is the source or origin of the pictures, then, where is the need for the screen to see, that, which comes out of itself? Where, is the need for the ‘Source’ to see, to worry or to think about something, which is a part and parcel, of the screen itself? That’s why, the screen does not see but is just there, as ever, as a presence and it just shows up, it just holds, all that is projected, upon it.
The above analogy, is equally true, for this existence as well. Everything, in this existence, is just a part of this existence itself and manifestation of the same consciousness or existence only. Nothing can arise and exist, apart from it. All, what we know, as physical creation, comes out of this existence, survives and thrives, in the very lap of this existence and finally disappears back into the same existence, only. That’s why, the existence or the consciousness, is just aware and just there, as ever, as ‘it is’ and as a presence and holds, all which arise n happen, in its lap.
The consciousness is conscious or aware by itself and that’s why, this existence is just the awareness. In consciousness, there’s no duality and hence, there’s no such thing, as the other or the observed or the seen. Because in awareness there is no other, no duality and hence, in awareness, there’s no such thing, as thought, anxiety, problem, suffering, question etc. all these things are a subject of duality. Consciousness, is one existence and hence, the only reality, the only truth. The existence, therefore, is all and includes all.
Further, there is no such thing, as observing or seeing, because the observing or seeing is of the consciousness and hence, the existence or consciousness, is the real, the ultimate seer, the ultimate knower n the ultimate observer. Therefore, there is only the observer or drishta because nothing else but the observer or the existence, alone, does really exist. That’s why, those who knew, pronounced, that the observer is observed, too - drishta hi drishya hai - because nothing can and does exist, apart from the observer or the existence.
‘The observed is separate from the observer’, is only an idea which exists in your mind only and is a result of your ego, of your thinking, because you think or imagine yourself, to be an individual or a separate existence. This is like, a picture assuming, its existence, apart from the screen, which is ignorance, because the picture is forgetting, the very reality, of the screen and thus existing in an imaginary reality or in ignorance. The observed or the other, thus, exists in your imagination i.e. in your mind only and not in reality.
Mind is individuality and hence, the mind sees or observes, everything, apart from the screen. The trinity i.e. the observer, the observed and observation, are only, when you exist here, apart from the existence, which is not the truth. This trinity arises because you are standing aside and watching the pictures, apart from the screen. The observed, therefore, is separate from the observer, only, when you see the pictures, from outside i.e. as an audience. But if, you become aware of the reality i.e. knowing that, you too are, also there on the screen or the part of the same screen, then, where is the trinity of observer, observed and observation. There’s only the screen, the observer the consciousness, the awareness or existence or the drishta, gyata (knower), sakshi (witness) god, whatever the name you give. There’s no other, no observed.
So, this trinity of observer, the observed and observation are a part of your mind and in the mind only. Mind is not a reality. Mind is imaginary, a fantasy. In reality, there’s only oneness or one existence. Others or the physical is NOT, but is in your mind and because of your mind only. Don’t you know that, in your deep sleep, the observed or drishya does not exist? In your deep sleep, what really exists is the observer or drishta only. And, only that which exists in your deep sleep, is the truth or the real or IS. Hence, the observer or the drishta is all and there is no such thing, as the observed or Drishya and the observation or dekhana.
