Death, isn't always, THE END.

Yes, you read it right. Death, isn’t always THE END. Of course, for us, death is the end of all. For us, death is like THE END, of a movie, in the cinema hall. Now, this is, because, we only know this body, we only know the physical and hence, for us, with death of someone, it is THE END, for all practical purposes.

Because, we only know the body and therefore, our social dealings etc, too, are for this body and limited to this body only and hence, with loss of this body, at least, for us, everything is lost. But, let me tell you, that at the existential level, this may not, always, be so. I will explain, as how. First, I will talk about, what usually happens, I mean, in most of the cases and then, I will talk about, rare cases, which though, are few and far between but death, in those cases is THE END, for good.

First, what happens usually, I mean, in most of the cases, is that, the body, of course is lost with death, because, death is always of the body, of the physical only. Death can kill or destroy the physical only. So, with death, the body is lost, forever and the same goes and merges back into its source and becomes the source, I mean, the same soil again. However, what’s not lost with death, is the subtle body or the ‘being’, which is an energy form, because, death can’t kill or destroy the energy, as we all know, that energy can neither be created, nor destroyed.

So, even after death, this ‘being, or the energy form, remains alive and intact. This ‘being’ or subtle body, which we also know, as jivatma is nothing but the desires or the vasanas, in essence, in the form of karmic memory or imprints, which we keep gathering, over our living here. This karmic memory, is physical in nature, because, it’s nothing but impressions of our physical desires, tendencies etc and hence, this memory wants physical expression and as we all know, that physical expression is not possible, without a medium, like this gross body.

So, this energy form or karmic body or this ‘being’ seeks and finds another gross body, so that it can express itself. This subtle body or ‘being’, therefore, is the sole reason and cause of the new gross body. So, in the first type i.e. the usual cases, what really happens that, yes, the gross body is lost with death but the ‘being’ or subtle body or karmic body remains alive n intact, even after death of a person and this subtle body, in due course of time, finds another gross body and this is how this journey of this ‘being’ or of the jivatma continues nonstop, until its dissolution.

Not only but this ‘being’, this energy form is the same, right since its inception i.e. beginning of its journey and remains the same, until its dissolution i.e. end of this journey. The journey, therefore. is of this ‘being’, of this jivatma and not of this body and this journey of the ‘being’ continues, nonstop, until its dissolution and merger back, into the source.

So, in the usual cases, what happens, is that only the gross body falls, which we know, as death and with disposal of this dead body, all comes to an end, for us, as far as, that person is concerned. But, the point which we need to understand is that, so long, this subtle body or the ‘being’ remains alive, this journey can’t be stopped and will really never stop, because, the very reason and the basis of the new body, is always, alive and intact. This journey of the ‘being’, I mean, this body-business, can only be stopped, once n for all, only by dissolution of this ‘being’ or of this energy form.

Now, I come to the second type, I mean, something, which, though, happens very rarely and those cases are few n far between, but death in such cases is, THE END, in true sense, like falling of curtains, for good, because, this body-business, is stopped, forever. This is, because, the very reason and cause of the new body i.e. the subtle body or the ‘being’ is dissolved fully, which is that the energy is cleaned, of all the physical impressions.

The energy, as we all know, that can’t be destroyed but can only be transformed and hence, in this case, the subtle body or the energy form, is washed off, all the impurities or physical impressions and the energy is transformed back, into pure energy or pure consciousness. Pure energy never seeks a physical form, because, now there’s nothing physical in it, which wants physical expression. Pure energy or transformed energy, instead, merges back, into its source, where it has originally separated from and becomes the source itself.

Please understand one thing, that, energy separating from the Source, is bondage and energy merging back into its Source, is freedom or liberation i.e. liberation from physical existence, which, we commonly know, as mukti, moksha, nirvana etc.

However, the important thing about this second type, is that it’s very rare because this dissolution of the ‘being’ or cleansing of the energy, needs to be done by the person concerned himself while he is alive, he is in this body. It therefore, needs striving, needs efforts, because, this is possible, only n only, if one leads and lives a conscious life. Only, by becoming more and more conscious, more and more aware, this karmic memory can be dissolved or washed off, its impurities.

Please know that, subtle body or the ‘being’, is a result of unconsciousness, a result of unconscious living but dissolution of subtle body, is a result of consciousness, of conscious living. Consciousness needs striving, requires efforts, on the part of the person, because, consciousness needs to be earned but unconsciousness or unconscious living is, without any effort, without any striving, because, the same comes to us, for free, in the form of habits, with our birth itself.

That’s why, the first type, is very common but the second type, is very rare and that’s the reason, that Buddhas like, Gautamas and Mahaviras, happen and seen very rarely. Because, Buddha, means, the one who did this striving, by living his life consciously, while being in this body and thus he dissolved the subtle body i.e. he obliterated the cause and reason of new bodies altogether and thus stopped this body-business, forever.

So, whether, you will continue to exist here, even after your death or death, for you, will prove to be THE END for good, will really depend upon the way, you will live your life here i.e. unconsciously, as is the case with most of us or consciously, which is very rare. In fact, these are the only two dimensions, within which the life happens here. Unconscious living i.e. living in unawareness or living in behoshi i.e. your mind or the subtle body driving you, means, you will belong to the usual cases which is that, you will continue existing here even after your death and for sure, you will come back here, again, in this world, in another physical body. But, if you learn to live consciously and continue raising your awareness constantly, then, death for you can prove to be THE END. Because, consciousness is dissolution of karmic memory, dissolution of the ‘being’ and hence, in such cases, death is like, falling of curtains for good. Meditation is a method, which will help you dissolve this subtle body and stop this body-business, for good.
